Brian Barnum is an Operating Advisor for the Private Equity Strategy and he currently serves as CFO for Shamrock's portfolio company Skillable. Prior to joining Skillable in 2026, Brian worked as an Operating Partner at Shamrock, working closely with management teams and implementing a number of value creation initiatives across the private equity portfolio. Prior to joining Shamrock in 2017, Mr. Barnum held a number of senior executive roles for privately held media, communications and technology companies including COO of Brighter, Inc. (acquired by Cigna), COO/CFO of The Rubicon Project (now Magnite), the COO/CFO of Business.com and later the President of Dex Media’s Digital businesses (now Thryv Holdings) after it acquired Business.com, the CFO of Rent.com through its acquisition by eBay (now RentPath), and the CFO of Transaction Network Services, which he guided through an IPO. Prior to his roles as an operating executive, Brian worked in investment banking at Bankers Trust Company and Alex Brown & Sons.

Brian has an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and has a BA in Economics from Stanford University.
